READ: Mark 9:17-29

Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

Evil spirits want to inhabit a human body so that they can affect the person physically. Sickness can be caused by the presence of evil spirits on a part of your body. When you open your life to evil spirits, they could fasten themselves to your body and cause illness.

The presence of the evil spirit made the young man experience chronic convulsions. The evil spirit made him throw himself into the fire. Clearly, the presence of the evil spirit was responsible for this behaviour. Evil spirits can cause barrenness, cancer, heart disease, or mental illness!

Some people do not understand why people scream and writhe and roll when demons are going out of them. There are common biblical occurrences which are signs of evil spirits going out of human bodies. As Philip ministered, evil spirits came out screaming.

“Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. FOR UNCLEAN SPIRITS,

WITH LOUD VOICE, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. And there was great joy in that city” (Acts 8:5-8).

You should always deal with evil spirits as led by the Spirit of God.
